Sturdy, textured, and beautifully woven — this collar is hand-tied using the cobra knot, a classic technique known for its strength and clean, interlocking look. The cream and tan two-tone colorway gives it a soft, sophisticated finish that pairs well with any coat color.

Please note: this collar is not adjustable. Each collar is made to a fixed size, so accurate measuring before ordering is essential for the best fit. (See our sizing guide using the simple string method for an easy at-home measurement.)

Hand-knotted with soft, durable cotton cord and finished with a secure quick-release buckle, this collar combines a time-tested weaving technique with everyday comfort.

Details:

  • Hand-tied cobra knot design in cream & tan two-tone
  • Fixed size — not adjustable. Please measure your pet's neck before ordering.
  • Soft cotton cord, durable and comfortable
  • Quick-release buckle for easy on/off
  • Handmade by Auntie Kay's Pets — where pet bling meets crafty charm

How to Measure Your Pet's Neck for the Perfect Fit (String Method)

Since this collar is not adjustable, getting an accurate measurement before ordering is important. The string method is simple and works great for both dogs and cats.

What you'll need:

  • A piece of string, yarn, or ribbon (non-stretchy)
  • A ruler or measuring tape
  • A treat or helper, if your pet is wiggly!

Steps:

  1. Wrap the string around your pet's neck, positioning it where the collar will naturally sit — typically mid-neck, about 1–2 inches below the ears/jawline (not down at the base of the neck near the shoulders).
  2. Snugly fit the string, but don't pull it tight. You want it to sit the way a properly fitted collar would — comfortably snug, not loose and not choking. A good rule of thumb: you should be able to slip two fingers flat between the string and your pet's neck.
  3. Mark the spot where the string overlaps to complete the loop, either by pinching it with your fingers or marking it with a pen.
  4. Lay the string flat against your ruler or measuring tape and measure from the end to your marked point. This number is your pet's neck circumference.
  5. Compare this measurement to the collar's listed size (or size chart) before ordering. Since this collar doesn't adjust, choosing the closest match — or sizing slightly up if your pet is between sizes — will give the most comfortable, secure fit.

Extra Notes:

  • Measure when your pet is calm and standing normally — not right after a meal, and not while stretching or hunched, as this can throw off the number.
  • For growing puppies or kittens, remeasure periodically, since a snug fit today may be too tight in a few weeks.
  • If your pet is exactly between two sizes, we generally recommend sizing up slightly for comfort.
